REVIEWS

We'd love to hear from you.

“I never came down (to the Narooma MTB trails) until a year or so ago, now we do a week in the town at the caravan park all because of the trails. If you ever need to apply for more funds to build more trails this is a perfect example of the tourism it’s bringing. Trails are world class. I don’t even both with Thredbo anymore.”

"We had 4 brilliant days of riding. The progression jumps on Thunderbirds are go, are really something else. Sue and I both cleared jumps that we thought were beyond. We covered every thing except the blacks. We did the wilderness, gravity and playground areas. I’m 64 and Sue is 61. So maximising fun and jumps, while we can, is important. We brought our e-bikes but also brought our xc analog bikes. What a blast we had on both over different days. We came to Narooma last December to ride the new trails. We are back again this year and will come back early next year. We visited as many sponsors as we could. This place is brilliant. The animals, the beaches and the people. Sue had brilliant rides, loved every minute in the bush and on the trails. She has Parkinson’s disease so every minute of every day counts. Thanks to everyone for making this an awesome trip! Your efforts are very much appreciated."

Last weekend, 11 of us from the Hunter Mountain Bike Club headed down to Narooma to hit the tracks for 3 days. Great accom, cold beers, good food and amazing tracks, what more could you want from a boys trip!? Day 1 shuttling, and the next 2 days riding as many XC trails as we could – probably 90% of them! We all clocked up well over 100 kms of riding including back to Narooma via the “Big Niles Brewing” and then about 8kms along the coast line – a very scenic path! Most of us are committee members of HMBA MTB club at Awaba/Newcastle. We understand the work that goes into a track like yours and what all the “Track Fairies” do behind the scenes (being track fairies ourselves). We would like to thank everyone involved in the park and commend you on an awesome job you all do! We had a blast and loved the variety in such a small area. From the climbs to the downs, you have nailed it! We can’t wait to come back!

Best trails I’ve ridden for a long time. Awesome location, heaps of parking and great selection of trails for riders of all abilities.
Pack the mountain bikes if heading to Narooma!!

I always welcome new trails and appreciate the enormous efforts that goes in building bike parks such the one at Narooma. Also a big thanks to the local council for supporting this initiative. This was my first time riding at Narooma bike park. Just a few observations. Please make it more obvious at the entry of the car park where to go for the shuttle for the gravity and playground zones! Also, there is no sign roadside informing visitors about the bike park entrance.

Fantastic trail network in a glorious location! If you are planning a a holiday weekend at Narooma, you could incorporate a trip here or just spend two days riding these trails. The trailhead isn't all that well marked from the highway (particularly if you're driving south) but the trails certainly are! There's plenty of signage on the trails, so it's hard to get lost, with plenty of "You are here" signs around the place, as well as great descriptions of the trails and options from where you are. The gravel car park is easily accessible with a drop toilet and shaded picnic area. They have a bike repair station alongside the maps of the park.
There are three trailheads - the primary trailhead, gravity and Red Knob, as well as a large junction in the Playground. All three have large signs with maps describing all of the trail options from that point - a great moment to pause and think of your next move. The Primary and Red Knob trail heads also have toilet facilities. The primary trail head also has some suggested loops - which are a great guide for the first ride! As more of an XC rider, I took the pilgrimage loop out to the wilderness section and was rewarded with some spectacular fast, flowy riding through a mixture of bush and rain forest! But, honestly, I could've just spent all day riding the Playground tracks. There's also a shuttle for the gravity trails (https://www.mountainbikenarooma.com.au/mtb-shuttles). You can ride up, and be treated with great views (and tired legs) towards the top however if you're planning a few loops on the gravity trails, the shuttle is the go. Quite a few of the trails in the Wilderness section also had rakes, the idea being that riders can have a go at raking as they go; it's a great chance to stop for a breather, as well as ensuring all the trails are regularly cleaned. A big congrats to the Narooma Mountain Bike club who are charge of the trails! They're awesome!

Great MTB park with a wide selection of trails to suit everyone. Very well signed trails, almost impossible to get lost. This place is a real credit to its creators.

Amazing trail network. Gravity zone was out favourite. Definitely check out Big Niles brewery in Dalmeny for a post ride beer.

Gnarooma! Narooma MTB trails are awesome. Expertly built trails through beautiful bushland, so much wildlife, ancient rainforest, some of the best riding I’ve ever experienced.

Awesome MTB trail network with something for everyone! Cross country, technical blacks & double blacks, fun flowy greens for the kids, blues for intermediate riders, downhill runs, jump runs... such an awesome place. Some areas are self-shuttleable and some areas have paid shuttles (recommend booking in advance!), but everything does have an uphill trail if you just want to ride the network yourself. My favourite trail here is "I love Steve", followed by "Colonel Senders". Well worth a visit if you're a mountain biker! It's free, but your donations and support are appreciated, as it helps trail maintenance. They also often have drink, merch and food options on-site (such as bacon & egg rolls, drinks, sausage sizzles, etc) during weekends and holiday / peak periods, with all proceeds going to trail maintenance.

Excellent trails and great bang for buck with climbing to downhills in the playground area. Really fast shuttles in the gravity area, the trails aren't the longest there, but some good variety for all abilities. Highly worth a drop in for at least half a day if you're event remotely close to passing by.

Fantastic mountain bike park, something for everyone here. Big carpark, toilets, well signed maps and trails, easy to use own shuttle and also shuttle service provided. The tracks are mint, well looked after and built superbly there is something for all ages and all abilities. The bottom section has been done so well for kids to ride, grow and hone their skills, little jumps, very well built wooden features and great little berms. The black tracks and double blacks are exactly that, from huge jumps to big drops thru absolute chunder, so, so good. Not to be missed in mentioning, this Mtb park is directly off the highway, peel off the road and literally 5 mins your dropping in, off your own shuttle if you like. Hats off to the trail fairies, maintenance crew and overall designers, well done.

Absolutely some of the best trails I’ve ever ridden. They’re new, that helps of course, but they are really well planned and built. Climbing is a breeze if you don’t want to pay for shuttles, and if you have a group you can self shuttle to the Playground drop off. My only gripe is that showing up with a trailer, the parking lot was not trailer friendly: it’s big, but the layout isn’t conducive. if I’d parked there I’d have blocked six spots. We parked up Mitchell’s Ridge Rd about 400m and rode down to the trail head.

This is an incredible collection of MTB trails, with very scenic surroundings - rainforest, woodlands and amazing views at the top. There is something for everyone, and you can tailor your own route by skill and duration very easily. Really impressed with the quality, upkeep and features - especially given it's managed by volunteers. Worth the visit, and could easily spend multiple days here over a weekend trip. Tip - make sure you download the map on your phone to help you navigate your way around.

Sophie

Some of the best gravity trails in Australia! Shuttles here are a must, but there's plenty to explore outside the gravity section.

Phil

Drove 4 hours. Was not disappointed. Excellent trail network. Flow, tech, gnar, jumps, xc. Something for everyone.

Leo

Can easily rate as the best trails you'll find anywhere in Australia, and we've ridden many including Derby, great carpark , well kept facilities, huge number of visitors from interstate positive vibe, a credit to all those involved for making this available.

Roxanne

Amazing trails, from basically beginner to very advanced. Suits everyone more than any other park I have ridden.

Kerrin

Awesome - so much care put into the trail network by rightly proud locals. Do donate to support their epic hard work and imagination.
